The Homerton Harm Reduction Survey
ReD: Homerton College in collaboration with ReD: UNAM (Dr. Claudia Rafful)
During the spring of 2025, members of ReD: Homerton undertook the first-ever harm reduction survey at Homerton College. This exploratory survey was conceived as a peer-to-peer initiative aimed at collecting relevant data about drug use practices, levels of drug education and access to harm-reduction services within the Homerton student body. We are now analyzing the data collected and using it to think about what harm reduction could look like in the context of our college community. Based on this analysis, we will put forward a series of recommendations to the college wellbeing and tutorial teams as well as the student government bodies. Over the next year we will convene a series of focus groups to keep thinking about how to cultivate policies and practices of harm reduction that are responsive and relevant to students who use drugs within our community.
